Most Indian SMEs do not fail online because they lack a logo. They fail because the site cannot answer three questions on a phone: what you sell, who it is for, and how to talk to you.

At Maarif Digital Marketing Agency we build sites for that job — not for awards slides. This is the 2026 checklist we use in New Delhi discovery calls.

Start with the offer, not the slider

If a visitor cannot name your service after ten seconds, design will not save the page. Write one sentence: who you help, in which city or industry, and what happens after they enquire. Put that sentence in the first screen. Keep the primary button as a real next step: Book a consultation, Request a quote, or WhatsApp.

Do not invent rupee prices on the public site if scope still changes. Honest “Request a quote in INR” beats a fake package number that you later walk back.

Mobile is the site

Most of your traffic will arrive on Android Chrome. That means:

  • Tap targets that a thumb can hit
  • Phone and WhatsApp links that actually dial
  • Forms that do not hide behind a tiny “submit”
  • Images that are compressed, with real alt text

A desktop-only mock-up is a prototype, not a launch.

Pages that search engines can use

Google needs unique titles, a canonical URL, and content that matches the query. Duplicate service pages with swapped city names are thin. One strong services overview plus dedicated pages for website development, SEO, and digital marketing is enough for a first launch.

Lead capture that you will actually read

Every enquiry should land in an inbox you check and in a CRM or admin list. If the form only emails a personal Gmail that nobody opens on Saturday, you will lose work. Pair the form with WhatsApp, but keep the form as the paper trail.

Legal and trust without theatre

Publish a Privacy Policy and Terms that name the processors you really use. Do not paste US-only cookie copy. Do not add star widgets or client logos you do not have. NAP (name, address, phone) on Contact should match Google Business Profile when you create it.

Hosting and ownership

Know who owns the domain, the repo, and the CMS login. Next.js on Vercel is a strong default for marketing sites. WordPress belongs on a host your editor already understands. Hosting fees are separate from the build.

What we do next

If your current site is a visiting-card PDF, start with a rebuild. If the site already explains the offer, skip to SEO or a free SEO audit request. If you need demand on a timeline, ads only after the landing page can convert.
